JAlbum is a cross platform photo gallery creation package, written in Java and available for several different computer platforms, including Mac OS.
JAlbum works very well on the whole, but when it creates albums, it ignores any ICC colour profile information that original images contained. The files it generates have no associated colour profile at all.
The people who use JAlbum on an operating system which supports colour management may see significant differences between the JAlbum pictures and the original photos.
Usually, the pictures will appear too dark, with over-saturated colours. You can`t do anything about how the images might look on a computer with no colour management support in the first place, but for computers which do have it, this is a real shame as keeping the colour profiles would entirely avoid the problem.
Fix JAlbum ICC Profiles is an Automator workflow which patches around this on Mac OS X using built-in routines to copy the colour profile from each source image to each slide and thumbnail image.
